  This website contains the names of all those recorded as buried in the Asylum and Hospital Cemetery and offers the opportunity for those visiting to leave their respects and other information against each individual’s entry. The website records burials at:

• WILTSHIRE COUNTY LUNATIC ASYLUM (1851 to 1922)                                         
• WILTSHIRE COUNTY MENTAL HOSPITAL (1922 to 1948)
          • ROUNDWAY HOSPITAL (1948 to 1966)

To ensure each individual buried there is recognised as a living person on whom fortune may not have smiled but whose existence is not forgotten

Mortuary Chapel looking south

A view looking south to the Mortuary Chapel in the Asylum Cemetery Built in 1851, it was demolished around 1966, there are a few small stone remnants lying around the site. The gravestone to the left of the photograph is that of Augustine Harrison who died in 1874, it has twice been broken by vandals and repaired
